I watch the Sonnenhut every year, as it has taken so long to get established! Only to or three flowers last year, but so many this year, and it has been in my garden for at least five years now!
That reminds me to go check in my front yard to see what is blooming! So hot too at least we got a good soaking here in NH last night. Yours are beauties!
Yeah, woopee, doing a dance of joy.. being silly…I was so glad to see this. I was thinking last week after I saw the last one that the echinacea would be great to do a progression with. The way they look in the beginning like crowns. I had three which were coming up together, the picture “We Three Kings” was in my head but I could not get it to translate. Your shots and writing make me happy.
What a lovely comment Mountainmae! So glad I made you jump for joy! They really do look like crowns now you mention it – you have a good imagination! Have a lovely day!
A pleasure Strawberryindigo. I’m glad they have brought a smile to your face! They are pretty cheerful flowers – called “sunhats” in German, which suits them so well!
Fabulous pictures marking the time of echinacea as it blooms..I love this plant so much!!
It is a flower that has grown on me since discovering the German name is “Sunhat” (Sonnenhut)!
Great time lapse… (again!) Even better than the previous because the final shot is the only one where I normally recognize Echinacea…
Thanks Gunta… this is a good exercise for me too, to recognize plants at different stages.
Interesting. I also knew only the last appearance.

Thanks. They’ve done well this year.
I see that! I went out and mine are no where to be seen yet
but now I have your beautiful shots to remind me of what is to come
I really like this series of photos.
Thank you Mary. It was fun doing them!

Again, amazing photos! I like these colourful flowers.
Maybe another one for your garden?
Oh dear, I think my garden won´t be big enough for all the flowers I like.
Very beautiful photos. It makes me feel like I am in the middle of it all.
