I’ve been longing for some more snow, and on Wednesday night it finally arrived. It has been snowing non-stop since then, and is pretty deep!
The Tuesday view looks a bit different today…
Our path through the trees looks quite romantic…
Snowy pine needles always make me laugh – no idea why!
I shall enjoy it while it lasts.

Wow that is gorgeous Cathy…glad to see your snow!
I was so happy to see it too!
It’s wonderful, Cathy. We might even get a little snow here, tonight–although nothing like that!
Hope you do get a little Robin! The light is so lovely, especially in the mornings…
Well, it didn’t happen–although the media hype about the possibility of it did clear the bread and milk off many a grocery store shelf. Ah well, there’s still time…
Enjoy!
I’ve never noticed people going crazy about supplies here, but then it takes a lot for things to come to a complete standstill in the south of Germany – a foot of snow was manageable with only a few flight and train delays! Hope you get some snow soon!
On the other hand, it takes very little ice or snow to bring things to a complete standstill in Georgia!
Oh, I’m so happy you finally got some snow! So beautiful!
There’s nothing quite like freshly fallen snow!
I like your photographs of the newly fallen snow. So happy you got your wish…
Thanks Mary – it’s now Friday morning, very cold, but the snow has let up. I’ll go out with the dogs later and mess it all up with footprints!
pure and beautiful…serene.fresh
Fresh is a very good word to describe it!
Beautiful! Absolutely! Wow!
Precisely!
These photos make excellent computer screen wallpaper.
A little sunshine would make them prettier…
I love snow on trees. Your snow really is nice and soft and wet….the best kind!

Thank goodness not too wet! Nice and powdery, and a doddle to clear from our driveway.
Absolutely beautiful: and love your walking path
!
Thank you Eha. Our pathway is a real haven.
That’s serious snow. But it is beautiful and reminds the plants to keep their heads down as there is a lot of winter left.
You’re right, winter often lasts well into March. I rescued a hellebore in a pot before the freeze arrived, but the one in the ground is still completely dormant and will love this insulating blanket!
That what I call knee deep in snow. Beautiful photos.
Thanks – so deep it went over my boots! LOL!
Pristine and enchanting. How lovely!
I love walking in the untrodden snow, but we have already messed up a lot of it in the garden! Our little dog loves sticking her head deep into the snow and “shoveling”! So funny!
Very cute…I’d love to see that. It rarely snows here and when it does it is very wet snow then it turns to ice. When I was younger we had better snow…chalk it up to global warming, I suppose…
Everyone says the same, so there must be something in this global warming thing…
Wonderful! That´s winter
Enjoy your walks.
Uta
Thanks Uta – hope you can enjoy some snowy walks too!
Today I will have slide rides at a kid´s birthday-party. But we only have 2-3 cm snow. A huge white carpet.
With all that snow around, wish I am there
It’s a pretty sight, but cold!
Looks beautiful Cathy – enjoy your snow!
Thanks Sarah – it’s still looking very white out there!
Postcard-perfect!
How much did you wind up with? The Wednesday photos look deep already…
Must be well over a foot – quite a lot for one day!
A true winter wonder land! Beautiful; it makes the snow here seem rather insignificant. Christina
Not at all – a sprinkling can be just as pretty! I’m glad to have any at all, so this was a great surprise!
Looks gorgeous, great photos!
Thanks – hope it sticks around for a few days!
Almost all my snow is in my childhood, where it never melts. It’s good that you get to play in the snow as a grown-up child.
That’s nice – most people I know believe the snow was more frequent and deeper when they were children, but I remember only occasional years as a child where we had enough to go sledging. Here it’s unusual NOT to have any!
Beautiful, we got a dusting ourselves yesterday!
Hey, I just took a look at yours – however much it is, it’s always beautiful! I bet you don’t see it very often!
I’m going out this weekend to build a snowman and take some pictures…. I love snow (but only when I don’t have to go to work in it!!).
Have a lovely snowy weekend Sharon!
Looks like a replenishing, energizing snow Cathy. Yay!
I travelled south for several days and completely missed a light snowfall here. Just a white dusting on the north side of the highway as we drove home last night, so I’m enjoying yours by proxy. Susie
We’ve got enough to share!
Do you usually have much snow?
Shipping costs would be horrendous! We get snow not usually more than once a year. I understand this was only one inch, but it would have been pretty to see it falling.
Now that looks like real snow Cathy and puts our covering of about 3 inches to shame
Hope that you are enjoying it.
I am, as it has stayed cold and the sun has refused to shine, so it is still clinging to the trees!
I’d say 3 inches is not bad either!
Marvellous, Cathy. Brings the whole garden to life in winter, doesn’t it? We’ve had more here this morning and everything is sugar-coated!
Yes, the light it reflects is really cheering after such a gloomy December!
Winter’s back! Finally! Although I could do without the snowy roads…
It’s only the side streets that are bad now.
