The Winter Blues

They almost got me the other day, the winter blues.
But then I found this beautiful poem…
Blue Winter
Winter uses all the blues there are.
One shade of blue for water, one for ice,
Another blue for shadows over snow.
The clear or cloudy sky uses blue twice-
Both different blues. And hills row after row
Are colored blue according to how for.
You know the bluejay’s double-blur device
Shows best when there are no green leaves to show.
And Sirius is a winterbluegreen star.
by Robert Francis
And then I went looking for some winter blues, and this is what I found…

  1. Do you not love those deep blue skies? The type which occur during the arctic blasts are sadly, a rarity in most years for us in the UK but when they do come along, I for one, cannot wait to embrace them.

    Kind Regards
