Early Friday morning I went out with my camera to capture an unusual sight… our canal has frozen over almost completely, and a thin dusting of snow lies on the surface.

After days of freezing temperatures I feel suspended in time. All garden life seems to have come to a complete and utter standstill. The anticipation of spring, like a seed waiting hopefully for the warmth and light, has not quite turned to impatience… not yet. But I feel as though I am waiting in limbo for something to happen…
