It has finally stopped raining!
I shouldn’t complain, since we are luckily on a hillside with no risk of flooding, although our garden actually had puddles and standing water in it! Many people down at water level are flooded out, and downstream the Danube at Regensburg and Passau (near the border to Austria) is at its highest level ever.
Today’s view…
Have a good week everyone, and hope you are getting some lovely sunshine!
So sorry to hear about the flooding! Stay high and dry.
Thank you. They are calling it the flood of the century, but it’s the fourth I’ve seen here in the last twenty years!
Looks warmer, too! Hope the rain is finished for a while…
It is finally warming up, but still very cool nights. The sunshine was so welcome today!
Good to hear you are not flooded…we are in for more cool temps and rain for days…my gardens will love it but the tomatoes will be looking for warmer weather soon.
My tomatoes are also rather unhappy with the temperatures. But it is now June so it must warm up soon… hopefully!
Glad to hear that you are safe and sound Cathy. The flooding in Central Europe has been in the news here – so sad. I hope that the worst is over. We are enjoying a settled spell for once – you could even say that it was warm today 🙂
I think some of your weather has reached us too. It was lovely in the sun this afternoon. 😀
We were watching the Danube on the news last night, so glad that you are high and dry and that your weather is improving. So sad that nature can wreak such havoc, hope the floods soon disappear.
Thanks Pauline. The damage will be tremendous. The next city to be hit will be Dresden in the east.
Thought of you when I heard the news reports from Germany – good to hear you’re not flooded. The rain stopped and the sun came out just in time for the Tuesday view!
Yes, by lunchtime there was more sun than cloud and it warmed up immensely. Looks like summer is on the way at last!
Gorgeous view Cathy. The flooding there sounds just terrible. We had a nice rain Sunday night and Monday. It was needed after about a ten-day dry spell where the garden and grass started looking very stressed. Take care.
Hi Susie. Gentle rain in small doses would be ideal. We all seem to get prolonged dry spells and then storms and floods these days!
Beautiful….looks so warm and inviting
Warmer now, but still rather damp down in the grass!
I´m so happy that it has finally stopped raining. Our garden is still dripping wet…the flowers were suffering. But mostly suffering by the rain, cold and wind were the sheep in the meadows close by us. The newborn lambs were in danger to get an inflammation of the lungs…the shepherds have been very sorrowful…
I think it will dry up quickly in the next few days though, and hopefully the lambs – and the plants – will recover.
Looks great! Glad your rains have subsided ours begin on Thursday or Friday and flooding my occur for Sat. Must not mow till next Monday so it can get even thicker here 🙂
We’ve seen terrible reports of dams breaking in Bavaria today. And the rain in the Czech Republic is still causing German rivers to flood, so we’re not through yet! Dry here though thank goodness.
Stay safe Cathy We here in the states feel your pain as we have all seen the S%#* hit the FAN! 🙂 we will have flooding rains Friday and Sat. here but so far no beavers have been in the yard for awhile now.
Glad you’re safe from the terrible flooding. Your view looks fabulous, green and lush!
It’s a little jungle-like now it’s turned warm! 😉
The view is beautiful…stay dry
Thank you – we’re dry up here for the time being.
Glad you’re not flooded, how terrible for those at lower levels. Christina
Watching the news tonight was just terrible – so many large towns and cities completely flooded out even into the first floors. We’re lucky here.
Everything looks so verdant and lush! The rain is good for something!
Yes, I have never seen my garden looking so green in June! 😀
The view today is gorgeous! I hope it is holding. 🙂 How awful to hear about the flooding. I feel so badly when I hear about these natural disasters–flooding would be both frightening, and physically overwhelming. Your garden is just gorgeous, though, and I’m glad we can see how green it is! Our hills are slowly turning yellow and will soon be brown for several months! I do like green. 🙂
Yes, my garden is exceptionally green at the moment! Everyone was low when it was raining so heavily for days on end, so I can’t even imagine how the poor flood victims are feeling now. Thanks for your comment Debra. With all this unusual weather we are having, you may get rain and it will be a little greener a little longer!
Looks gorgeous Cathy! Best yet! I’m so jealous of your rain but I understand it has been too much. Flooding is definitely destructive. I saw a friend’s pictures of Munich too and the river(s) looked very high. 😦
The Danube and the Elbe further east are the major problems at the moment – dramatic pictures are reaching us. Three months’ worth of rain within a few days was just too much!
All is filling in so nicely. It is looking gorgeous. A great space to be (if all the above mentioned rains will subside). Best wishes Cathy.
Thanks Dohn. The rains DID subside, but floods are still threatening the east and north of the country, as a large river (the Elbe) flows from the Czech republic through several very big German cities. And Eastern Europe had more rain than even here…
