Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day! The light was so bright and for the first time in days I could see how high the sun is now, not disappearing behind the hills until after 4pm. It cast long shadows, and as I walked around the garden with the dogs I captured some of the impressions it made on me.

To celebrate seeing the sun again I also baked some delicious Peanut Butter Cookies which captured the sunshiny feeling too…
For the recipe, hop over to visit Gwynne at The Crafty Cook Nook. Her recipes are always amazing, as are the titles of her posts – this one is called “It’s Wednesday. Have an Amazingly Delicious, Naturally Vegan, Crunchy Peanut Butter Oat Cookie.” Love it!
Gorgeous shots of your world! Have a great weekend!
Thanks Eunice! xx You too!
How lovely to have a hedgehog family in your garden, we haven’t seen any here in our garden for years. Its great now the day light hours are getting longer too, spring is around the corner (I hope!)
We haven’t seen them since the autumn, but assume they are safely tucked up in there! I’m happy to have them as they help keep the slugs under control. 😀
Glad the sun found you again. You really captured the light well.
Hi Susie. It makes such a difference when the sun shines… hope spring comes early this year!
Lovely to see the sun in your garden again, reminding us it won’t be long till spring.
And amazingly it is sunny again today too…. two days in a row and I feel almost jubilant!
Ah winter sunlight – weaker but more welcome I think!
It does have a little warmth despite being so weak… we had a tropical 8 degrees yesterday! LOL!
This is how I like it. Little snow, mild temperatures, touched by sunlight. Similar to our days. 🙂
At the weekend we will get storm again.
I’m just hoping it stays dry for a few days! Hope you have a sunny weekend Uta… before the storm arrives!
The sun is very welcome when it puts in an appearance between the storms. I like your photo of the shadows on the rock – very artistic! Hope you get plenty more sunshine over the weekend.
Thanks Sarah. We’ve had two dry sunny days in a row now and I was actually able to do a tiny bit of tidying up in the garden… great feeling to be outdoors again. Have a good weekend!
the light has suddenly changed, hasn’t it? Even on the days that had rain this week there was a different quality to the light. I love it!
I have noticed a difference in the last few days too Christina. It’s a good change! 😀
I always look for un upturn in the weather around Valentine’s Day. I’m sure there is plenty of winter left on our plate, but I am looking forward to a big helping of spring! It’s wonderful when the days begin to get longer…your photos capture the feeling perfectly.
Thank you Marian. Even if we do still get some cold weather in February you are right – the lengthening days make it easier to bear! Have a good weekend!
I’m so glad the recipe worked out well for you, Cathy!
Thanks Gwynne! There are only two left now, but I did halve the recipe… 😉 Have a lovely weekend!
We had one of those gloriously sunny winter days today, I love the long shadows, and the bright edge to the colours. You jst have to get out and record it, don’t you! Lovely little shots of sunny winter.
Thanks Janet. I made the most of it this morning too and tidied up a tiny area where my pulmonarias and hepaticas will flower… So good to get outdoors again! 😀
Oh! Spring is on the way! It is a magical time of anticipation!
When the sun shines I think the anticipation is almost as good as when spring finally arrives!
It’s wonderful when the sun returns after a long absence, makes you feel that spring can’t be far away. In spite of all our rain and hailstones, the birds think its time to be nest building, they think spring has already arrived!
The birds have been chirping and busily inspecting my nesting box too. And with the mild temperatures and sunshine I do feel quite optimistic! 😀
It’s snowing here again, but perhaps we’ll get sunshine tomorrow! Your photos are beautiful. Have a great weekend~
Thanks Sheryl. Hope you get some blue skies tomorrow too!
It’s great when you can detect those subtle changes Cathy. Not much in the way of sunshine here yet this weekend but there’s still another day to go 🙂
I hope you get some sun and that nasty storm isn’t going your way Anna. I hear the west and south-west has been battered again. Have a lovely Sunday. 😀
Peanut butter cookies – yum! Though chocolate chip is always my first choice. Glad you are enjoying the sun. Here we are getting even more snow – this winter there is twice the normal snowfall so far.
It seems you’ve had our share of winter too! 😉
You did a great job of capturing that sunlight! What a nice showing after so many grey days. There’s just a little light left for me to see when I leave work, it’s exciting to know we’re turning a corner again and headed for warmer days 🙂
Your snowdrops will be up in no time!
I have noticed a major difference in daytime hours too – no lamps necessary when I go out with the dogs first thing, and the blinds aren’t closed until after 5.30pm! Those snowdrops are coming… if we have a bit more sun it’ll be any day now! 😀
The sun has been shining but the temps are always below freezing or even below zero…very cold and snowy still this winter
I think you have had our winter on top of yours Donna! Hope it warms up for you soon!
Yaayyy The sun’s coming out! I hope it’ll stay this way for some time.
Me too Simone! 😀
