This posy is posing beautifully for my Monday vase, as I join Cathy at Rambling in the Garden and the many other participants of her lovely meme.
Crocus in yellow, white and purple, red and white Hellebores, a snowdrop or two, a sprig of Mahonia foliage, and Dwarf Iris – the pale one with yellow markings and blue veins is ‘Katherine Hodgkin’, which loves this dry spot.
Which side do you like best?
Or how about this?
Or this?
I think she is rather vain, this posy… but doesn’t she have reason to be?
😉
It’s a winner from any viewpoint:^)
Thanks Marian!
Lovely collection of early spring! Katherine Hodgkin is striking.
I think I prefer the deep blue iris, but this is a rather unusual one as a contrast.
Man kann die Vase drehen wie Karussell, die Farben und die Blüten sind aus jedem Winkel schön anzuschauen. 🙂 Daylight – spring – dreams!
Thank you Uta. Isn’t it wonderful to see some new life coming out of the ground at last!
A lovely collection of miniatures – all views are delightful!
Thank you Eliza!

Oh, possibly the mifddle one, but I couldn’t say why 😉 Isn’t it good to have these early spring flowers to pop in a vase though? You must be thrilled after your long winter 🙂
🙂 Oh yes, spring is coming along really slowly after all that frosty weather we had, but that allows me time to enjoy it for a change. 😉
Looks lovely from every angle 🙂
Thanks Sam!
Looks good in all directions Cathy!
Thank you Dorris!
Oh the color! I was out in my garden looking to fill a vase and came up with lots and lots of green. I an in envy!
I’m sure you will get some other colour really soon too. Green is my favourite colour at this time of year anyway! 😉
Love your vase of flowers. What’s a posy?🏠
Hi Lisa. A posy is a small bunch of small flowers, often hand-tied. (At least, that is my definition of it!)
Thanks for visiting! 🙂
Thanks
Very pretty from all sides, did it lasr for you? The Iris are always my favorite.
The hellebores haven’t lasted, but the iris have. 🙂 The crocus don’t open again after a day or two but still look colourful.
Sometimes I really enjoy the ephemeral ones just because the beauty is fleeting.
How delightful to have such colorful and beautiful flowers. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks John!
Delightful. Your beautiful photos brought a smile to my day. Thank you xxx
So glad this made you smile. Thanks for visiting!
Such beautiful shapes and colors! The last pose is my favorite 🙂
Mine too! 🙂
Yes! It’s beautiful.
I think so too. 🙂
Indeed, yes; a beautiful posy to bring in the spring. Pretty shape vase too.
I think the vase was a bargain at our local chemists a few years ago – always a bonus to find something in a sale! 🙂
Your vase looks perfectly pretty from every angle, but I do have a weakness pale iris …..
I think I prefer the deep blue ones Kate, although I must have liked this one when I bought it!
A most pretty late winter/early spring posy Cathy and all profiles are equally delightful. Nothing beats these early flowers in my book.
🙂 Early flowers certainly get more individual attention than those in June!
So very sweet!
Thanks Laurie!
Pretty from all view points, but I like seeing the strong blue iris clearly. Lovely vase too.
I love that deep blue iris too. 🙂
And a lovely posey it is, especially the golden yellow Crocus and blue Iris.
The yellow crocus are the first flower to appear here and when I see one peeping out of the leaves and winter debris it is like finding gold!
Spring In a posy.
Well said, Brian. 🙂
It’s wonderful to see all those flower faces from every angle – especially the whiskered irises 🙂 It’s such a classic glimpse of spring in a single posy, and perfect in that small vase!
I have a Tuesday View post up at https://www.smallsunnygarden.com/2017/03/14/tuesday-view-spanish-lavender-in-bloom/
Thanks Amy. It is a collection of all that is flowering right now, but I have to remind myself there is a lot more of spring to come!
Hiya Cathy with the hat,
That blue of the little I. danfordia[?] stands out so clearly. What a pretty concoction.
BTW, do you like making a posy in your hand, by adding flowers one at a time? I know there is a word for that, but words escape me these days ….
I. danfordia are yellow I think. This blue one must be one of the I. histrioides which range from blue to purple. I very often put my flowers for a vase together that way, arranging them in my hand as I walk around the garden, only occasionally rearranging them indoors. 🙂
Vanity is fleeting. Do these die as quickly in the vase as they do in the garden? Pretty for now, though.
They last longer in the garden! Although one of the hellebores still looks fine, all the others have faded now. Still, that was three days. 🙂
That petite vase of flowers brought a big smile to my face. Spring is definitely showing up in your garden.
Thanks Karen. Glad it made you smile! 🙂
