Lovely, Cathy! I really like the colour of Cytisus praecox ‘Hollandia’. It is interesting that my G. phaeum leaves lack the burgundy splash. I wonder if it is an old plain variety that was put aside in favour of the coloured variety. I got it at a local plant society sale years ago.
My original G. phaeum had very dark leaves and almost chocolate coloured flowers but I think it crossed with another green-leafed one causing this pattern! The originals have disappeared and I only have this one now. So yours was possibly a hybrid too. 😃I would love a paler flowered one some time, but would plant it in a separate spot. 😃
Thanks Anna. We don‘t have much choice in the graden centres but I am now discovering small specialist nurseries that have started selling online so perhaps I‘ll find some different G. phaeums for another year. 😃
Thanks Steve! What an opportunity to be there alone. That is so often the problem with gardens open to the public. You need a lot of patience to wait till there is a lull in the crowds.
So many pretty spring flowers.
The Butterfly Bed is looking good now. 😃

I have a variegated leaved geranium phaeum too Cathy but prefer the plain green leafed varieties. It makes a nice combination with that lovely tulip.

A friend sent me this link, which I think you’ll appreciate, too:

A fabulous Geranium!
Thanks Jason. I can recommend it!
You’ve captured the essence of Geranium phaeum so beautifully.
Thanks Ali. 😃
These are beautiful photographs of your garden treasures. I love that Aquilegia.
Thank you Susie. 😃
