The flowers are too high up on mature trees to be noticeable. The first time I noticed them was after some strong winds knocked the fading ones onto the ground. But now I have my own young trees to observe at eye level. 😃
Oh, larch are lovely trees Kris! They lose their needles in winter, send out fresh lime green foliage in spring, and turn a beautiful golden colour in autumn. 😃
How amazing! That flower is beautiful and surprising. Is it in your garden? I fell in love with a weeping larix at a plant fair last Saturday but I didn’t buy it as I was pretty sure it wouldn’t take kindly to being planted in chalk. I’m now wishing I had 😕
I would love a weeping larch too…. but I have a mini larch ‘forest’ instead, with seven young larches planted in a circle. They are now a bit taller than me. 😉
What an amazing plant! The larch family is truly unique!!
The flowers certainly are. 😃
So pretty Cathy. I’ve never seen those before. Thank you for educating me.

How unique!
They are amazing, aren’t they!
Wow!
Nature’s wonders. 😃
Sweet! I’ve never seen a larch tree before, much less one with blooms.

I also have never seen those before. Very interesting.
They are usually too high up in the trees to see.

Oh how pretty! What a special little flower!
They are special Beth, especially as I feared the trees would succumb to mice activity over the winter!
Cool! Such a lovely little cone on a tree that can get 100 feet tall.
They are usually far too high up to get a close look, but my baby trees are already producing a few. 😃
Gosh – how pretty is that?! 😊
I agree! 😃
I’ve never seen Larch flowers, they are so beautiful. Amelia
They are lovely, and are easier to see on a young tree.
You apparently didn’t worry about leaving us in the larch.
😉
