A quick snap today, as I’m preparing for a visit from my Mum and Dad from the UK. 😀 A few days of conversation and some games of Scrabble by the fire will make February rush by in a breeze and before we know it spring will have arrived!
~~~
The garden seems to be suspended in time… nothing happening yet!
Have a great day everyone!
😀
Nice! I have some of these in my front yard, too! Although I have wait for several months for them to flower…it is minus 12 degree C now. 😦
Mine won’t flower until April or May either… but dreaming is fun! Hope it warms up for you soon.
True, it is fun to dream…that is why I start to grow some flowers and veggies from seeds now. 🙂
Wish you a wonderful time together!
Thank you Uta! 😀
Your garden still holds a lot of interest. Have a fun visit! susie
Thanks Susie. Hope my snowdrops will finally open while my Mum’s here!
I hope you enjoy yourself with your dad. Your garden still looks beautiful even in winter. 🙂
It is amazingly green this winter, but I can’t wait for spring and some tidying up!
How wonderful to have your parents to whisk away February! I should go out to visit mine.. that’s such a great idea!!
I haven’t seen them for months, so it will be lovely. Hope you can visit your parents too Barbara. We all need something to look forward to at this time of year! 😀
Have a fabulous time with your parents Cathy, we are expecting TNGs parents in a couple of weeks, and are really looking forward to it. Your border looks greener to me, but maybe that is the light. I really love the contrasting textures and subtle colours.
Thank you Janet. February is a good month for visits! It does seem greener out there, but I fear a lot of it is just moss! 😉 I’m glad at least that we didn’t have any permafrost this year, as it damaged the lavenders in the rockery terribly a couple of years ago.
Spring is definitely in the air. Your garden looks more like spring without the snow.
There was just one tiny weeny patch of snow left behind the rock on the right… 😉
It does seem like the garden is just waiting for better weather to arrive – not a bad idea really! Hope you have a great time with your parents.
Thank you Sarah. We seem to be having endless days of mild grey weather with one or two partly sunny days every week or so. A bit of variety would be nice – as long as it’s not rain! The UK has been on our news all week – hope you are high and dry where you are.
Everything looks almost spring-like there already! 🙂 Have a wonderful time with your parents!
Thanks Sheryl – yes, ALMOST spring-like! Have a good week!
Have a great time with your parents! 🙂 We got 2 inches of snow today and are suppose to get 12 to 14 inches tonight thru Thursday! It’s very cold here! Have fun!
Thanks Michael. Oh, so much new snow? Hope your kitchen is well-stocked up for the weekend! 😉
The garden may look a little bare to you when you think of what is to come in spring, but it’s still really lovely. There are shades of different colors that are very appealing. I know you’ll be so glad to have time with your mom and dad. I hope there will be many Scrabble games and lots of hugs! Have a delightful time…but I know you will!
Oh yes Debra – lots of hugs will also be on the cards. I don’t see them very often so will make the most of it. Thanks for your lovely comment! 😀
Enjoy your time with your Mum; spring will come, but February is a little early despite the mild winter.
Thanks Christina. Yes, too early I know, But I hope this month will fly by and March will be warm and sunny! 😀
May look as if it is suspended animation but there are subtle changes going on all the time. Enjoy that precious time with your family Cathy and I hope that the sun shines for their visit.
Thanks Anna, some sunshine would be nice! 😀
Enjoy the time with your parents, Cathy 🙂
Thanks Annette! We are sitting by the fire catching up. 😀
Looks like you are about a month ahead of us, maybe a little more. Hope you get some sunshine soon.
Thanks Jason. We had some this afternoon! Glorious!
Etymologically speaking, a garden is an enclosure. The word garden is related to the verb gird and to the noun yard.
That’s interesting, so plants are not necessarily a part of it! Thanks once again for enlightening me Steve. I must now take a look at some German words for garden too. 😉
the garden may seem suspended in time but underneath in the soil there is LOTS of activity!
That’s true… I love seeing the first worms in spring, but they must be “worming” around right now too!
How wonderful to see your garden.
Hi Donna. I hear there’s been more snow on the east coast. I bet you’ll be glad when the snow finally stops and you can see your garden again too. Have a good weekend!
I know you must have enjoyed the visit by your parents. Hopefully the remaining days of February will fly by and March will bring some lovely weather.
By the time I have caught up on some housework and some translation jobs it will already be March! 😀
