We had some lovely sunny days recently, but always with a cold wind. Would love a drop of calm and damp weather for a day or two to stop the pollen flying!
I think it is what they call a ‘lily tulip’ because of the shape of the petals. I spent Earth Day sowing seeds Debra, getting my fingers nice and ‘earthy’ in order to ensure I have lots of colourful flowers later in the year too! 🙂
Such a lovely arrangement of spring flowers! The tulips are really “dreamy” in shape and colour and the Narcissus “Thalia” are so beautiful. I like both of these flowers
Have a happy weekend, Cathy!
Hello Elisabeth. This is a happy combination that wasn’t actually planned and appeared last year for the first time. 🙂 I added more of the same bulbs last autumn.
Its nice to mix a few flowers in with the veggies, or vice versa! And then there are always herbs too. My chives will look so pretty when they flower for example, and the flower heads are delicious! Happy gardening Gwynne!
Perfect caption. The tulips are smiling at the sky. That scene is a beautiful combination of colors and textures.
And I was glad the photos weren’t too bleached out by the strong sunshine. I love that colour mix too.
I have Purple Dream too, isn’t it a beautiful tulip? For me it has also returned for several years.
I planted a few more last autumn because I liked it so much, especially with Thalia and the Heucheras which was a lucky but unintentional match!
Ah, such a lovely tulip. I really like the shape, which suggests more of a species tulip.
I think it is called a lily tulip. It looks pretty when closed on a cloudy day like today too! 🙂
What a colour of the tulips! And together with the Narcissus marvellous!
I think those colours go well too Uta. Have a nice Thursday!
Love the color…
Those purple Heuchera leaves catch the light so well too…
Beautiful! The spurge in the background frames it nicely.
Yes, a lovely vivid lime green one that I am hoping to feature in a Monday vase one of these days… 🙂
Those tulips really do look as if they are enjoying the sunshine! Amelia

Absolutely lovely Cathy! I just adore the color.
It is a lovely shade, isn’t it. Hope you have some pretty flowers blooming in your garden too Nancy! 🙂
I do! The Irises are the stars at this moment.
A dreamy tulip indeed. I love it.
It’s one of my favourites Chloris… my all-time favourite is still to bloom. 🙂
Beautiful!
Thanks Anca. I am rather fond of tulips!
I’ve never seen this beautiful tulip before, Cathy. I love it. Your garden is certainly beautifully dressed for Earth Day! 🙂

I’m certainly picking up on sunshine Cathy. A most attractive tulip.
The sun was wonderful here for several days in a row, Anna. The tulips are all coming along now!
So beautiful, and what an intensity of colors. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you like them Cecilia!

Wow, these are so pretty. We’re a long way from your gorgeous garden beds, but we’re starting to add flowers to our veggie growing ways.
