World Kindness Day

kindness: (noun) the act or the state of being kind, marked by goodness and charitable behaviour, mild disposition, pleasantness, tenderness and concern for others.

Today is World Kindness Day.

It was established in Japan in 1997 by a group of people called the World Kindness Movement. The purpose is to look beyond the boundaries of race, culture, religion, etc and show kindness to our fellow human beings.

Kindness generates kindness.

(Smile and the world smiles with you!)

Flax (Linum usitatissimum): symbol of kindness

Be kind to all those around you today! Cook something nice for someone. Smile at and greet people on the street, even if you don’t know them (and they give you a funny look!). Hold the door open for someone. Call someone. Pay someone a visit. Pay someone a compliment.

Have a lovely day!
