Earlier in the week I picked all the pink Larkspur in the Moon Bed in the hope that any seedlings next year will be just blue or white. Well, the Larkspur looked lovely alone in its vase, but it would look even better if I added some frothy white Queen Anne’s Lace I thought.
As usual, one thing led to another and I found some wild Achillea milleflorum that had a pink tinge to it. Then I saw my pink Gypsophila was in flower. And a white Cosmos ‘Fizzy White’ looked pretty. And I just had to cut a couple of those gorgeous outlandish pink fluffy spikes from the Sanguisorba.
And so my vase evolved and I must say I rather like all that fizz, froth and fluff!
Why not join Cathy at Rambling in the Garden for this lovely Monday meme. 😃
Happy Gardening!
What a lovely vase, so light hearted and frothy! What are the beautiful green buds? Is it a just opening larkspur?
Hi Cath. Yes, they are the larkspur buds. They struck me as really pretty too. 😃
Such a pretty vase. Does the Queen Anne’s Lace grow wild in your area?
Yes, it grows in abundance here all summer and is at its peak right now. 😃
Such beautiful flowers! I just Love the colors! 💜
😃 Summery colours and a bit of romance!
It’s lovely!
Thanks Sel!
Gosh, that’s lovely – what a glorious shade of pink the delphinium is and not at all what I expected. I think you said yours were in a mix but I might seek out some this shade. Pink gypsophila sounds lovely too, and the sanguisorba is gorgeous! I would love to be admiring this vase in my own house, Cathy 😊
Thank you for your lovely comment Cathy! Yes, that sanguisorba is amazing. A bit weird but very wonderful! 😉 The pink Gypsophila was a revelation… I planted it two years ago not expecting it to survive our winter, but it gets bigger and stronger from year to year. 😃
Great news about the sanguisorba – mine have been very slow to establish
The fizz, froth and fluff turned into a delightful creation.
Thank you Karen!
I agree with Cathy about the shade of pink. Really lovely. Your pink and white concoction makes a great summery statement.
A bit different for me, but I love those pinks too!
Cathy your vase is magnificent, sparkling and with a divine pink and white color, I love it. I love all the flowers but especially the pink gypsophila is lovely, pink larkspur is divine, sanguisorba is spectacular – I love them. Cathy is a vase that makes me smile for its wonderful combination of flowers and its great beauty. Thank you for the beauty of your vase. Take care. Happy gardening! Very affectionate greetings from Margarita 😘😀
Thank you Margarita. Glad you liked it! 😃
And I’m glad you make such fabulous bouquets! Thanks Cathy. Very affectionate greetings from Margarita 😀😉
Gee, I do not often see larkspur, and when I do, it is blue. I see pink larkspur only in pictures.
I have two different shades of pink and two mauve as well, all in the one packet of mixed seed. 😃
I don’t think I’ve seen a solid pink larkspur here. It looks fabulous with its pink and white companions. I adore that Sanguisorba, one of the many plants on the long list of things I’d love to grow but can’t.
The larkspur is lasting so well in a vase too. My sanguisorba is a bit eccentric, but I love it too! 😉
Is that the Pink Squirrel tail sanguisorba? The whole arrangement is so very pretty.
I suppose it must be as it looks just like a squirrel tail! It’s a bit of a showy plant, but lovely with it. 😉
Love It! I had pink Larkspur further north..it just appeared with the blue and an occasional white. The setting /background for the vase is just wonderful.
Thanks Amy. It’s the first time I have grown any larkspur, and all the colours have been really pretty.
Just my cup of tea! So pretty and romantic, well done.
Thanks Annette. The larkspur was in my Magic Garden Seeds advent calendar and has been so lovely in all shades of pink and blue. (And one white too). 😃
Your vases are always lovely Cathy
Thanks Eunice! 😃
Well done, Cathy! It is a delightful confection. A bit like birthday cake! 🙂
😆 Yes, rather sweet, but nice just once in a while! 😜
Delightful! Surprising colours all round
Thanks! Yes, the pink Gypsophila is especially lovely.
All fantastically floriferous Cathy 😄
Thank you Anna! 😃
Daucus carota was new to me last year, and I was delighted that it re-seeded and showed up again this year. I love your arrangement, Cathy. The pinks are such a soft and sweetly cheerful color. 🙂
I tried growing it from seed once and had no success, so I am glad it grows wild all around us! 😉
